چکیده
To any prime alternating link, we associate a collection of hyperbolic right-angled ideal polyhedra by relating geometric, topological and combinatorial methods to decompose the link complement. The sum volumes these is new geometric invariant, which call volume link. We give an explicit procedure compute from diagram, prove that it lower bound for

Organizing Volumes of Right-angled Hyperbolic Polyhedra
This article defines a pair of combinatorial operations on the combinatorial structure of compact right-angled hyperbolic polyhedra in dimension three called decomposition and edge surgery. It is shown that these operations simplify the combinatorics of such a polyhedron, while keeping it within the class of right-angled objects, until it is a disjoint union of Löbell polyhedra, a class of poly...
متن کاملRelative Hyperbolicity and Right-angled Coxeter Groups
We show that right-angled Coxeter groups are relatively hyperbolic in the sense defined by Farb, relative to a natural collection of rank-2 parabolic subgroups.

متن کاملClassroom note: Almost-isosceles right-angled triangles
We provide an elementary method to show that there exist infinitely many right-angled triangles with integral sides in which the lengths of the two non-hypotenuse sides differ by 1. The method also enables us to construct all such right-angled triangles recursively. 1. Introduction There does not exist any isoceles right-angled triangle with integral sides. Does there exist a right-angled trian...
متن کاملSurface Subgroups of Right-Angled Artin Groups
We consider the question of which right-angled Artin groups contain closed hyperbolic surface subgroups. It is known that a right-angled Artin group A(K) has such a subgroup if its defining graph K contains an n-hole (i.e. an induced cycle of length n) with n ≥ 5. We construct another eight “forbidden” graphs and show that every graph K on ≤ 8 vertices either contains one of our examples, or co...
